A couple useful features

I’d like to highlight a couple features this site has to offer that may have gone unnoticed for some of you. While they’re not lifesavers they can be handy for particular reasons.

Tags

Every comic page has some tags (words) attached that describe who’s appearing in that given page, where the scene is located, the tone of the scene, etc. That makes tags a powerful search tool. For instance, if you click on the tag “witty”  it’ll display all the comic pages where Witty does appear. You can also write her name in the search box with the same results. The most popular tags and the search box can be found in the footer of every page of this site.

Keeping up to date

tags article A couple useful featuresRSS. Do you want to be aware of every update, be it a new comic page, a new news post or just anything? In that case, let me introduce you to my old friend the RSS feed. It will keep you informed about whatever happens in this site, showing you a list with the most recent updates. If you don’t know anything about this RSS thing there’re several articles that explain it better than I could ever do.

E-mail. If you just don’t want or like to use RSSs there’s an alternative: email notifications. You get exactly the same information you’d get with the RSS feed, just in individual email deliveries. If several updates happen in a day you’ll get just a single email containing all of them. The disadvantage: it’s the slowest way to get notified.

Twitter. The new kid in the block. The thing everyone (still) raves about. But what’s this Twitter thing? Think of an alternative blogging space where ultra small posts (up to 140 characters) are sent by your blogger/author of choice. From random thoughts to updates on what’s happening at the backstage of the site / webcomic. There’s a catch, though. You need a twitter account to be able to follow someone. There’s also lots of information about what’s Twitter about on the net. In my particular case I also use Twitter to announce updates to the site (the same information that can be found in the  RSS feed).

But, can it get better? Is there an ultimate way of getting the latest of the latest? Yup. Let me introduce you the next generation in keeping-so-up-to-date-that-you-get-the-news-before-they-happen.

TwitteRSS. The ultimate toy for the update addict. Not really, but it’s a nice middle ground. It allows you to follow any Twitter poster without having to sign up for a Twitter account. All you need is a RSS reader and you’ll get the twitter feeds as you get the RSS ones. It’s the same mechanic.

As you see there’s a lot of options to not miss a single update from this site. Just pick the method you feel more comfortable with.

See you soon.
